Sea kayaking in Canada’s southern Gulf islands with its many wild islands, its water teeming with marine wildlife and its spectacular backdrop of the snow covered Cascade mountain range, makes this destination without doubt one of the world’s “hotspots” for enthusiastic sea kayakers.

These islands are a very scenic place for kayaking and gives the paddlers some great opportunities to view spectacular wildlife such as Orca whales, porpoise, sea lions, seals, river otters, bald eagles and a variety of seabirds etc.

We will be spending 7 days paddling around the southern Gulf islands – a newly established national park of Canada – located in the strait of Georgia between Vancouver city and Vancouver island. We will be following the wild coastline and discover quiet coves and resting on sandy beaches. At night, we will stay in backcountry campgrounds, all well situated by the beach with awesome views. Beginners can participate on this trip, however it is helpful for everybody to have some basic paddling skills.

Rough itinerary:
Day 1: Pender island-preparations-Saturna island
Day 2 to 4: Saturna-Cabbage island
Day 5: North Pender-Isle-de-Lis island
Day 6: Isle-de-Lis-South Pender island
Day 7: South Pender island-End of the trip
